She hadn't been doing very well... heart issues, a bad leg, pneumonia... they were in and out of the doctors all day every day.
But just the other day, she had a mini heart attack. Had to go to the ER, and then the doctors thought she might have to get open heart surgery.
"She's old, Dette. Auntie's 80-something years old, and her heart's just getting tired."
What's this? My husband... comforting me?!
It was HIS Aunt and Uncle up in the hospital. He's always been very close to them - they were like his second set of parents. Especially when his own mother dealt with Alzheimer's the last 12 years of her life, and then having to lose his father to an inoperable brain tumor ten years ago...
Since then, they'd been just like parents to him.
Good news is, the docs were able to get another stint into her so she won't need to have open-heart surgery tomorrow after all.
So when we were in San Diego for Thanksgiving, we had to stop by and see them. It'd been way too long since we'd visited - I'm really glad we went... We're praying for a full recovery...
Here's some pics - check out the Little Shit trying to get his new best friend all riled up for a chase ;)

Happy Scrapbook Saturday!
