Alice Cullen, Filipina Style

When your days are full with the same-old, same-old, it's nice to have a little escape every now and then. Something to take your mind off of your worries, off of the bickering, off of the bills, off of any drama...

That's what Twilight was for me. :)

Besides, you know I'm always looking for an excuse to dress up. In costume, that is. ;)

Another TwilightMOM invited me to the Twilight Premiere Party on Friday - which was completely Alice'd out with Twilight favors, games and prizes. She even set up apples at each setting!

But the weekend wasn't over yet. I promised the boys I'd take them, so after the midnight showing on Thursday, after the TwilightMOMS party we had on Friday, we headed over for yet another showing on Saturday afternoon:

Numbnuts (7 yrs) and Einstein (14 yrs)

The Spirited DareDevil and MDawg

The Sidetracked Wizard and MDawg

MDawg and the Boys

I admit, I was a bit... disappointed after watching it the first time. I knew it wouldn't be as good as the book, so that was no surprise. But I'm an analyzer, and it was hard for me to get my head out of the books. I was really hoping it would capture the depth of Bella and Edward's relationship...

But I must admit, after I got the analyzing part over with, after I already knew what would be cut, what would be added, what would be changed... When I watched it the second time?

The goofy smile on my face came back, and I TOTALLY got to sit back and just enjoy it. Which is a good thing, since I also promised my Mom I'd take her to see it! ;)

For me, I like to see Twilight the movie as a visual complement to the books - a movie that stayed true to the storyline. Though I don't think anyone can really capture the essence of Twilight without reading the saga... :)

But I am excited to be able to say that this complement, beat out both High School Musical 3 and Quantam of Solace, earning $70.5 million in its opening weekend!! Yeah!
