Yesterday was our first day back - which I actually spent recuperating. Hubz took the day off with me and helped me put the house back together. Actually, HE put the house together while I knocked out on several occasions - lol. Shit! I must've been tired.
Hmmnnn, let's see... what did we do while visiting family in San Diego for the Labor Day Weekend?
-LegoLand
-La Jolla
-Del Mar Race Track
-Girls Night Out
-Date Night
-BBQ (in Long Beach)
LegoLand was cool for the little ones, but... I was trying NOT to fall asleep while everyone oohed and aahed over MiniLand. Going to the beach the next day was a treat, since we hadn't been in 2 years - and shopping at the boutiques is always fun.
But I SHOULD'VE bet more when we were at the race tracks. I was laying down little $5 bets, and on the last two races I bet on, MY HORSE WON 1ST PLACE!!
Me and the biatches hooked up for a low-key girls night out on Saturday. I wasn't feeling the downtown scene and wasn't in the mood to hit the night clubs, so after dinner (Lao Thum-Mak-Hoong with Pork BBQ & Sticky Rice - YUM!) we watched "Mirrors" *hmph* and headed to a brewery down south for some drinks.
I have never seen so many Filipino's in one place in for-friggin'-ever. It was weird. lol - I've been in BFE for TOO long.
But the best part, was seeing the girls and picking up from yesterday. Some of them I hadn't even spoken with in almost a year!
Sunday night was date night, and Hubz got us hooked up at the Gaslamp Marriott Downtown. Uh - my new fave place to have a drink? Altitude. A rooftop bar 22 stories high, they sure know how to create a comfy and hip environment. I thought I'd be cold, but they've got heaters galore to keep you warm. Plus, I loved the mixed crowd - not too much of any one thing (race OR age) which made it that much better.
Visited Hubz' Auntie & Uncle on Monday (they're like 2nd parents) and then on the way back home, we stopped to see some friends in Long Beach. Our supposed half hour visit turned into two hours, but it was worth it. Even if we didn't get home until almost 11pm. On a school night.
(sigh) But now it's back to the real world, and I spent most of the day trying to catch up on work. I've yet to tackle my personal email, and I have SO many tags to catch up on! A quick glance told me I've got some awards to grab (thank you!!) and I've also got a special feature to get ready for at Nothing But Purple. Stay tuned for some Purpilicous fun - I'm so excited!!
What a nice welcome home to come back to - I've missed you guys and can't WAIT to catch up with all of you!
P.S. Didja notice I didn't mention anything about the bro? I might have to fill you in on that bit of drama next time. Let's just say that he didn't have time to introduce us to his new baby daughter while we were in his hometown, but he had time for a last-minute 2-hour drive to LA to visit his in-laws.
