I hate crowds.
No.
I despise them.
In fact, Hubz and I prefer Knott’s Berry Farm to Disneyland simply because of the crowd factor. But “prefer” and “instead” are two different things – I won’t even begin to tell you about the horror we endured last winter. (Ugh!)
But if I hear any hype about anything, I’m pretty much nowhere in the thick of it. Not until it’s died down at least. Sometimes, I don’t even hear anything until WAY later (yes, I do live under a rock, in the friggin’ boondocks).
There IS always, though, the exception…
LOST
I did NOT start watching this until Season 3. Which, thankfully, was during the summer, because I downloaded the 1st and 2nd seasons to my iPod to watch on the flat screen in the living room – back to back. I love technology. And yes, I am a freak.
HARRY POTTER
Again, not until the 3rd book. But in anticipation of “The Half Blood Prince” coming to the big screen in November – I re-read the book then the boys and I held a marathon and watched ALL five movies within a week. Imagine my dismay when I found out the release had been pushed to July 2009. Bloody hell.
TWILIGHT SAGA
I confess, I didn’t hear about this until I read about it at Toni’s blog. And then – it was everywhere. How could I have missed it? When I picked up my 14 year old from the airport, we had passed the news stand when he pointed to the book and told me how he’d read it already. In fact, he’d already read the entire series.
I played hooky for most of yesterday, reading the first book, Twilight. Einstein kept creeping over to me to see where I was at, and several other times, I had to holler out to him what part I was on, simply because I could NOT contain myself.
So you can bet where I’ll be come November 21st. Crowds and all. =)
What about you? Any good TV shows or books that draw you in?
